Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data this website collects, how it is used, how long it is kept, and the rights you can exercise.

Who we are

This website (dna.org.tw) is run by the Taiwan Digital Nomad Association (“TDNA”, “we”), a registered non-profit association in Taiwan. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, please write to us@dna.org.tw.

What we collect and how we use it

Newsletter subscription

When you subscribe to the newsletter on this website, we receive the name, email address and language you provide, and we record the time and the page you subscribed from. We use this only to send you a welcome email and the newsletter, which goes out once a quarter. If you subscribe from the digital nomad visa guide, we also send you the visa application kit.

Email and phone enquiries

When you contact us by email or phone, we receive the contact details and the content you provide, and we use them to reply and follow up. Enquiries about the complete edition of the annual research report are also handled by email.

Browsing data

This website uses Google Analytics to measure visits: pages viewed, time on page, referring sites, device and browser type, and approximate location. We use these statistics to understand which content is useful and to improve the website, not to identify individual visitors.

This website does not accept comments and does not offer user accounts.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Language preference: remembers the language you chose (Traditional Chinese or English) so the same version is shown on your next visit. Kept for one year.
  • Interface state: your browser records whether the opening animation has played and whether the language notice has been dismissed. These records stay on your device and are not sent to us.
  • Google Analytics: statistics cookies that distinguish one visitor from another, kept for up to two years.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The main content of the website remains available.

Third-party services that process data for us

  • Resend: the delivery service for our newsletter and notification emails. Subscribers’ names and email addresses are sent to this service so that emails can be delivered.
  • Google Analytics: website traffic statistics.
  • Google Fonts: web fonts. When fonts load, your browser connects to Google’s servers.
  • Embedded content: some pages embed third-party content such as YouTube videos. These services collect data under their own privacy policies.

The servers of these services may be located outside Taiwan. Apart from the processing needed to provide these services, we do not sell or share your personal data with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep data

  • Newsletter subscription data: until you unsubscribe.
  • Email and phone records: until the enquiry is resolved, and for as long as follow-up requires.
  • Traffic statistics: according to the retention settings of Google Analytics.

Your rights

Under Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act, you may ask us to let you check or review the personal data we hold about you, to provide a copy, to supplement or correct it, to stop collecting, processing or using it, and to delete it.

To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email or write to us@dna.org.tw. For any other request, please write to us as well. We will act on it once we have confirmed your identity.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page.

One email a quarter: visa changes, new certified venues, and what is coming up.
