Southern Taiwan’s tech and digital nomad communities are about to gathering together. On the evening of 25 September, Kaohsiung Tech Night takes place at Second Space RED, bringing together people working in AI, design and remote work over talks, drinks and music.

Why it is worth your evening

One observation kept surfacing in the 2025 State of Digital Nomadism in Taiwan: nomads cluster tightly around community nodes. Places with events, space and other people are the places that hold onto them.

Kaohsiung rarely makes the shortlist. The conditions are mostly there — cost of living, food, climate, an international airport. What has been thinner is the thing that happens on a regular schedule. Knowing there will be people in the room when you walk in is, by itself, one of the reasons to stay.

The bar here is set low on purpose. The organisers are explicit that you need no background in tech and no existing contacts. Attendees range from developers and designers to founders, students and remote workers — the kind of evening you can turn up to alone without it being awkward.
