Why it is worth your evening
One observation kept surfacing in the 2025 State of Digital Nomadism in Taiwan: nomads cluster tightly around community nodes. Places with events, space and other people are the places that hold onto them.
Kaohsiung rarely makes the shortlist. The conditions are mostly there — cost of living, food, climate, an international airport. What has been thinner is the thing that happens on a regular schedule. Knowing there will be people in the room when you walk in is, by itself, one of the reasons to stay.
The bar here is set low on purpose. The organisers are explicit that you need no background in tech and no existing contacts. Attendees range from developers and designers to founders, students and remote workers — the kind of evening you can turn up to alone without it being awkward.
Who it is for
- Remote workers passing through Kaohsiung who want to meet the local tech and design scene
- Anyone interested in applied AI and design practice, and in hearing it first-hand
- Nomads weighing up Kaohsiung for a future stay who want to gauge the community density first
